Additively Manufactured Half-Gutman Lens Antenna for Mobile Satellite Communications

چکیده
In this letter, we present an additively manufactured half-Gutman lens antenna operating at 30 GHz. The hemispherical allows for a compact beamformer while maintaining the wide scanning capabilities of Gutman lenses. This solution further enables to better integrate feed system when compared more conventional half-Luneburg design as focal arc is moved inside lens. graded-index implemented with periodic structure arranged in body-centred cubic (BCC) lattice. We demonstrate that BCC provides attractive properties inhomogeneous dielectric Importantly, can be used alleviate manufacturing constrains structures. fed by dielectric-loaded square waveguide. proposed produces directive beam simulated and measured peak gain 26.2 25.3 dBi. steer its 50 $^\circ$ range elevation scan loss sidelobe levels below 1 dB notation="LaTeX">$-$ 10 dB, which agree values. cross polarization discrimination than 20 dB. intended ground segment emerging low-Earth-orbit satellite communication applications.
